Do you know what SIM in your SIM card stands for?

The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is a small smart card which contains both programming and information.InGSMnetworks, the A3 and A8 algorithms are implemented in the Subscriber Identity Module.Subscriber information, such as theIMSI(International Mobile Subscriber Identity), is stored in the SIM.
The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) can also be used to store user-defined information such as phonebook entries. One of the advantages of the GSM architecture is that the SIM may be moved from one Mobile Station to another. This makes upgrading mobile telephhones very simple for the GSM user.

Cellphone jammers

With so many people using cell phones these days, one of the devices that have popped- up on the market are cell phone jammers. Be advised that cell phone jammers are usually black market devices, since using them is illegal in most countries.

However, for those that are tired of hearing endless cell phone conversations or constantly being interrupted by incessant cell phone ring tones, a cell phone jammer seems like the perfect device to own.How Cell Phone Jammers WorkCell phone jammers work in a similar way to radio jammers by sending out the same radio frequencies that cell phones operate on. Doing so creates enough interference so that a call can not connect with a cell phone. There are two types of cell phone jammers currently available. The first type are usually smaller devices that block the signals coming from cell phone towers to indidual cell phones. The frequency blocked is somewhere between 800MHz and 1900MHz. Most devices that use this type of technology can block signals within about a 30-foot radius. Cell phones within this range simply show no signal. The second type of cell phone jammer is usually much larger in size and more powerful. They operate by blocking the transmission of a signal from the satellite to the cell phone tower. Some powerful models can block cell phone transmissions within a 5 mile radius. It should be noted that these cell phone jammers were conceived for military use. Once again, it should be noted that operating or even owning a cell phone jammer is illegal in most places.

Do not fall for all the free tricks blindly.

Please do not fall for free texting sms center numbers given in blog's and forums. The mobile providers are smart and not only block such centers but also put a heavy pricing tag on them. One of my friends tried a so called free sms center and for a single msg sent, he was charged 5rs.

Free stuff is good. But use wisely:-)

Tried and tested facts about AIRTEL free gprs trick (EXCLUSIVE)

Free gprs with AIRTEL LIVE is working fine in my place mangalore. But there are some glitches.

1. It works only in UCWEB and some times is TEASHARK, and not in the PHONE BROWSER or OPERA MINI

2. Only surfing can be done for free. When you attempt to download AIRTEL detects your ip and charges.

3. Keep your balance BELLOW RS1. Yeah thats right, preferably 0.09 or something.

4. As far as i know, none of the so called free unlimited download tricks are not working.

NOTE: ucweb is a server based browser with its servers in china. thats the only reason why AIRTEL is unable to detect while surfing.

But when you attempt to download, the files are attached to detectable download servers.

enjoy the free surfing:-)

A serious virus alert.

Anti-virus companyKaspersky Labshas identified a trojan known asSMS.Python.Flocker, which is spread by Bluetooth and text messaging and is already circulating in Russia, India and Indonesia.

And it is expected to be just the first of a spate of mobile threats to emerge this year, with cyber criminals turning to phones now that people are more aware of PC threats and internet security.

It would only take one call to an Australian mobile from an infected handset for the virus to spread.

The virus code, written for the Symbian operating system used by most mobiles, secretly texts a premium number. That service then bills an amount ranging from 40c to 90c. You probably wouldn't question 90c or even notice it if you text a lot, but when this code infects thousands of phones it adds up to quite a bit of money.

People can avoid infection by turning off automatic bluetooth settings. But the thing is they're usually on by default and some people don't check them. There have been five variants of the virus since it began circulating a few months ago. Older mobiles used relatively simple operating systems that were difficult to exploit because they did not have a wide range of capabilities. But with the latest smartphones all having internet access, Bluetooth and wi-fi connectivity, it means malicious code can more easily spread. Australian software companies are planning to release anti-virus protection for mobile phones later this year.

So stay safe. Use your connectivity options wisely. Your phone is your pride, protect it.

Want free java games and applications?

Mobile carriers offer games and applications for download from their portals, for a price. But there is an alternative, an amazing number of mobile Java games and applications are available for free. Freeware and Open Source downloads have been around for years and recently there has been an explosion of ad-supported mobile games offered by several sites. Here are my favorite sites for free Java downloads.

These range from simple games and utilities created by hobbyists to some quite sophisticated programs.

Mobile phones and health...

Despite its many advantages, a mobile phone often triggers a series of health risks when used carelessly. The direct exposure to a it often ends up gifting you ailments like dizziness, headaches, loss of concentration, mood swings etc, thanks to its non-thermal effects.
Such complications might be of trivial importance for you, but researches say that even dreading diseases like cancer can be caused. Moreover, there are strict warnings for a pregnant woman to reduce the careless use of her mobile. The radiation might cause genetic and birth defects to the baby inside. Would you believe that a hypersensitive person can fall sick if kept for a while near a cellphone. Such is the ill-effect of the hazardous ionizing radiation of electromagnetic waves, it generates. Thus next time when you lift up your mobile to mingle with your near and dear ones, don't put your life at stake. Because, this small technological gift, aimed to shorten the distances between the relations, should not be allowed to cut down the span of your life, at all.

What do you need to do forRadiation Free Mobile Usage? Keep It Away : It is always better to maintain a distance from your phone , so try to get adapted to the use of a hands-free communication equipment. In the process, you are free from the constant hazardous radiation which is a natural feature of a mobile phone. Definitely, you will not fall prey to many health risks.

If you tend to cover your mobile phone completely with your fingers while talking, you better leave this habit. This results in lowering its capacity to deal with the signals. It mars the performance of your cellphone. Thus it starts using its maximum capacity to enhance its performance. This causes excessive radiation. So hold it from its lower end, using the fingertips only.

Congested basements or rooms with few openings weaken the signals of a mobile. Thus there starts increased radiation which aggravates health risks. So if you happen to work at such places, come out of them while you are receiving or making a call.

looks like ill be the first one to die then cos i use my phone like crazy:-)
